Registration opens SOON!

Registration for the Northwest Genealogy Conference opens February 15th, 2016. Will you be visiting from out of town? Need a place to stay? Here is a complimentary review a local hotel and restaurant written by a Stillaguamish Valley Genealogy Society member, Leilani Lucrisia.

Angel of the Winds Casino and Hotel

If you are wondering where to stay during the Northwest Genealogy Conference, I encourage you to stay at the Angel of the Winds Casino and Hotel. It’s a smaller casino and hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Last month my husband and I were watching football in the casino’s Watershed Lounge. To make our experience even more fun they gave away door prizes during the game. One lucky winner, which turned out to be my husband that night, was awarded a free night’s stay in the hotel.

We are forever grateful to the Stillaguamish Tribe for the opportunity to experience the most relaxing Friday night in their hotel. Since we only live 10 minutes away from the casino, we probably wouldn’t have experienced a night’s stay at the hotel otherwise. The hotel opened only around a year ago, so the rooms are beautifully decorated and are fresh and clean. Presently, there is no pool or hot tub, but it is on the hotel’s wish list for their near future hotel expansion.

We had the best sleep ever because our king bed was so comfortable and the blackout drapes made the room really dark and cozy. The bathroom was amazing. Granite counter tops, glass shower surround and a rain shower! It’s a good thing my husband was hungry because he would have never left the shower otherwise.

We went to breakfast in the hotel’s Watershed Restaurant. For only $9.99 we were greeted with a full buffet of everything you can imagine for breakfast. My favorite was my omelet cooked to order and delivered to our table. No standing in line at this restaurant. Did I mention the warm blueberry crepes, cinnamon rolls and all the other goodies? Yummy. Breakfast is served starting at 7:00. So if you stay at this hotel, you’ll have ample time to eat and get to the conference before it starts. Even if you don’t stay at this hotel, it would be worth the drive to experience their amazing breakfast buffet.

The Angel of the Winds Casino and Hotel is just seven miles from the conference location, the Byrnes Performing Arts Center
