Society Saturday

In recent presentations at Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society(SVGS) meetings, Laura Pemberton Sparr shared some helpful resources for researching ancestors.  Some of the many resources she mentioned and that the Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical library has are:

The Red Book: American State, County and Town Sources

The Handybook (similar to The Red Book, but has some foreign country information as well as American)

Ancestry’s Concise Genealogical Dictionary, by Maurine and Glen Harris

A to Zax: A comprehensive Dictionary for Genealogists and Historians, by Barbara Jean Evans

Researching Church Records in America, by Ray Gooldy

Tennessee Genealogical Research, by George K. Schweitzer,Ph.D. SC.D.

The library contains these and many other resources for our genealogical education and I am excited to peruse some of those resources in the near future. To learn which resources the SVGS library has to help you in your research, check our online catalog at www.stillygen.org.
