At the beginning of this year, New York Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&B) received a large and valuable collection from Arthur and Nancy Kelly. The couple is known for the care and precision in transcribing and indexing original church and other records predating 1880, when New York State began to require the recording of births, marriages and deaths. The couple decided to donate their company, Kinship, in its entirety to the society. This collection is of great value to genealogists researching ancestors in New York. Flynn Kennedy shared this article from the Poughkeepsie Journal with me and I suggest you follow the link and read the full article. It is a wonderful biography of the couple and what they accomplished in their many years of research and transcription.
